What Fieldcraft covers
Why timing matters in Eorzea
Eorzea runs on its own clock: one Eorzea hour lasts about 175 real seconds, and a full Eorzea day passes in roughly 70 real minutes. Weather changes on a fixed, predictable cycle in eight-Eorzea-hour blocks, so it can be calculated ahead of time rather than guessed.
That clock gates the good stuff. The rarest gathering nodes and many prized fish only appear during specific Eorzea-hour and weather windows, and if you miss one you wait for the next rotation. Fieldcraft does the math from your device clock, so the live tracker always shows what's open this minute and what's next. Follow anything and it can nudge you before the window opens. See the Eorzea time & weather guide for the full explanation.
Gathering: Miner & Botanist
Miner pulls ore, stone, and gems from rocky nodes; Botanist harvests logs, plants, and fiber. The endgame loop is timed nodes: unspoiled and ephemeral windows that open at set Eorzea hours, plus legendary nodes gated behind folklore tomes.
Those nodes feed the collectables economy: turn them in for purple and orange scrips, or reduce ephemeral collectables into aethersand. Browse every item by zone on the gathering page, and see rotations for the GP lines that maximize quantity or collectability.
Fishing
Fishing stacks weather and time windows on top of bait. The biggest catches only bite under the right weather at the right Eorzea hour, often only after you hook a specific fish first (a mooch) or with Fish Intuition active.
Each fishing spot lists its fish, bait, and the windows when they bite, and the weather page shows the upcoming forecast for any zone. The fishing guide covers hooksets, mooch chains, and how the windows work.
Ocean Fishing
Ocean Fishing is a separate, social activity on a fixed schedule: a new Endeavor voyage departs every two hours, cycling through the Indigo and Ruby routes. Trigger spectral currents, chase the route's rare fish, and rack up points for cosmetic rewards.
The Ocean Fishing hub shows a countdown to the next voyage and every upcoming route, and the Ocean Fishing guide explains routes, spectral currents, and scoring.
